Acquisition of Protools
We are pleased to announce today’s acquisition of Protools, a quality recognized supplier of BHA products, based in Abu Dhabi. Formerly owned by Hunt Oiltools LLC, Protools is the recognized regional producer of BHA products.
For VAM Drilling, this acquisition represents a tremendous opportunity. Acquiring Protools reinforces our goal of manufacturing drill stems from the rig floor to the BHA close to where you, our customer, drill. Combined with our existing footprints in the US, the Middle East and Europe, Protools means that VAM Drilling will become the only manufacturer of complete drilling product packages in the Middle East. This acquisition will also allow VAM Drilling to build on its Middle Eastern sales channels and leverage Protools’ existing service organization.
We at VAM Drilling continually endeavour to be close to our clients and to optimize our offer through shorter lead times, improved local responsiveness, and overall optimized service. The decision to acquire Protools is the result of a shared vision of combining the strengths of both our organizations to bring the highest possible level of products and services.

VAM Drilling Cares for the Safety of its Employees and the Environment
VAM Drilling France has recently been awarded ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.
ISO 14001 is a standard for environmental management systems that aims to help companies reduce the environmental footprint of their business and decrease the pollution and waste produces.
OHSAS 18001 is an Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series for health and safety management systems. It is intended to help organizations to control occupational health and safety risks.

Acquisition of DPAL
VAM Drilling is proud to announce the acquisition of DPAL FZCO, a well established supplier of drill pipes, formerly owned by the Soconord Group. DPAL FZCO offers a large range of drill pipes to the oil & gas industry in the Middle East, where it enjoys an excellent service reputation. This acquisition will strenghten our position in Middle East.

Information Note Regarding VAM CDS and TM2
VAM CDS (Compatible Double Shoulder) is a high performance rotary double shoulder connection designed and licensed by VAM Drilling. It is compatible and fully interchangeable with TM2 except in 3 sizes ( TM 26, TM2 31, TM2 6 5/8 FH) These 3 sizes will continue to be supported as TM2. The VAM CDS connection is also fully compatible with all sizes of GPDS or DSTJ. VAM Drilling has solutions for ultra-extended-reach wells
In planning for ultra-extended-reach (uER) wells, projected torque & drag (T&D) loads exceed the capabilities of existing high-strength drill pipe. As operators continue to evaluate uERW options, they have been forced to consider using non-steel drill pipe materials (such as aluminum, titanium, composite or other) for reduced surface loads. While these materials have been used for some time in a variety of applications, many drilling engineers are reluctant to pursue complicated and high-value developments with what they perceive as lesser known or less understood technologies. VAM Drilling presents an alternative approach enabling operators to use all-steel drill pipe using special grades like VM-165 grade.
